Tranq Darts Don’t Pierce Armor
Some fans of the Metal Gear Solid series are very adamant about not killing anyone during the game. For this reason they tend to rely heavily on tranquilizers and CQC. Unfortunately tranquilizers don’t work on every enemy. Heavily armored foes are immune because the dart never actually breaks the skin, making them pretty annoying when you’re trying to infiltrate a space without making a scene. Shooting one of these guys will do nothing but alert them, making everything all the more difficult.
Get used to using alternative means of non-lethal takedowns. The E-Stun Decoy and the Prosthetic Arm are both valuable in taking down any foe, armored or not. While the former can be placed in an area to draw enemies away before taking them out, the latter is perfect for when you stumble across an unsuspecting guard and don’t feel the need to wast ammunition (or even your suppressor durability).
Getting too comfortable with solely one means of accomplishing a task will make life difficult for you in the later parts of Metal Gear Solid V: TPP, so branch out and put some soldiers to sleep.
