How to Get a Remnant Companion in Mass Effect: Andromeda
There are a few interesting companions to use in Mass Effect: Andromeda, and making the choice between which to to bring with you on a mission at any given time can sometimes be difficult. However, there’s another companion of sorts that is more like a pet that you can bring along on every mission if you so choose. You simply have to summon it, but you have to unlock it first. This companion is a Remnant Observer that you can use as your own to flank enemies with beam and missile damage and just overall add a bit of oomph to your squad.
In order to unlock the Remnat VI you must first obtain Peebee, the energetic Asari Scientist who joins your squad after completing the vault on Eos. She’s super into Rem-tech (Remnant Technology) and will have a side mission that involves you collecting information and pieces for her in order to complete a secret project. That secret project happens to be a modified Remnant Observer which unlocks the unknown Tech Skill Remnant VI. When the skill is equipped you can summon your own Observer companion and it will fight for you. You can have it target specific enemies by tapping what ever button(s) you have it assigned to, and you can send it away by holding the button(s) down. If you choose not send it away, it will fight alongside you until killed. It regenerates its own health and shields, making it just like any other member of your party, and upgrading it will unlock a missile launcher that does solid damage. Its standard beam, though, is enough to easily take out weaker enemies and to finish off other stronger enemies while you focus your attention elsewhere.
You may not be able to talk to Remnant VI in Mass Effect: Andromeda, but it doesn’t change how cool it is to have your own ancient tech fighting its brethren on your behalf.
