How to Solve Monoliths & What They Are in Mass Effect: Andromeda

Recommended Videos

As you venture across the galaxy in Mass Effect: Andromeda, you’ll come across a fair few of those giant towers known as Monoliths. In fact, you’ll be stood right by one the first time you meet Peebee on Eos.

On each of the main planets that you’ll explore in Mass Effect: Andromeda, you’ll find three Monoliths. These are large Remnant towers whose locations are marked on your map from the very start. In order to activate them, you’ll need to scan for the symbols in the nearby vicinity, and then use these to complete the sudoku puzzle in the center.

To find the symbols, simply use your scanner and follow any of the highlighted power lines. These should lead you directly to all of the symbols you need. Once you’ve got them, head into the center of Monolith and interact with it. You’ll now need to cycle through all of the symbols and ensure that there’s only one of each symbol in every column, row, and square. As long as you do this, the Monolith will be decrypted. If you do this for all three of the Monoliths on a planet, you’ll unlock that planet’s vault. And who doesn’t want to loot one of those for some sweet rewards?

That’s all you need to know about the Monoliths in the game. Check out our Mass Effect: Andromeda wiki for more tips, tricks, and guides.
