Because Mass Effect Andromeda is essentially a third-person shooter RPG, you will be able to level up your character and get stronger. In order to level up, you need to earn experience points. Experience points can be accumulated by killing enemies, completing quests, and finishing crucial story objectives. Whenever you gain a level, the game will prompt you on the screen.

Gaining levels also rewards you with skill points. By bringing up your main menu, you can go to your Skills menu and use those points to learn new abilities to improve both your defense and offense. Aside from just helping Ryder level up, your chosen squadmates will also gain experience points with you. This means that they can earn skill points as well, and you can help them unlock and equip abilities as well. Do note that unlocking certain abilities will require you to pass a required threshold of skill points, so it’s definitely best to do as many optional missions as you can to level up quickly.

Now that you know how to level up and use skill points, free to sound off in the comments if you have any questions about the game.
