How to Customize Your Character in Mass Effect Andromeda
Mass Effect Andromeda doesn’t have the most fleshed out character creation system in recent years, paling behind the vast capabilities of titles like Fallout 4 and even BioWare’s own Dragon Age: Inquisition. That said, you may be having a hard time getting your character to look just right, and it could be due to a confusing UI choice on Andromeda’s end.
If, from the new game startup, you choose to make a custom character, you’ll be greeted with a list of preset faces, and a Custom option at the bottom of the list. Logic may tell you to select that Custom option right off the bat, but no. What you’ll want to do is start off from one of these presets, the one that closest resembles the character you want to create. This is because once you start customizing specific features, you won’t really have the option to change up things like your eyes, nose, or mouth very much outside of their general size.
The problem here tends to be that this whole preset-choosing process can be a little unintuitive. You have to click on the face of choice, and then confirm your selection (almost as if you were finalizing your character to be that preset), and then move into one of the customization tabs at the top to begin altering.
Now that you know how to customize your character using the preset faces, hopefully you’ll have a better time creating your Ryder.
