Guard – God Eater 2: Rage Burst
Through all the hectic action that you’ll come across in God Eater 2: Rage Burst, it’s easy to forget that you can actually block attacks. While dodging to the side and staying on the move is usually the best course of action, actually bringing up your shield can help in a tight spot.
To guard, hold down R1/RB then press Circle/B. This will change your God Arc to its shield mode and stop incoming damage. There are three types of shields available in the game, and each one has its own stamina usage rate, defense, and deployment type. The three shield types are:
Buckler – Small shields which can deploy rapidly and use the smallest amount of stamina. However, they block the smallest amount of damage. Do not use against huge attacks.
Shield – Standard, well-balanced shield. Deploys at a suitable speed and uses moderate stamina. Can block a large amount of damage.
Tower Shield – The biggest shields you can get. Are very slow and eat a lot of stamina in exchange for blocking all incoming damage.
Pick the shield type that best suits your gameplay, and don’t forget to block those big attacks.
