Can You Change Jobs In Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age?
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age brings a number of big changes to the classic JRPG, especially when it comes to the job system. The new system is known as the “Zodiac Job System,” and actually assigns specific jobs to each of your characters, instead of each of them getting the exact same license board. Naturally, this restricts your character’s development much more than the original Final Fantasy XII, but does allow for more strategy in building your party.
Anyone playing The Zodiac Age will probably be wondering if they can change jobs after they’ve already chosen one for each character. Unfortunately, the answer to that is no. You’re not able to change a character’s job after you’ve chosen, so make sure you consider what you want to assign to each character carefully. You do have some variation, however, as each character will eventually be able to choose a second job to specialize in. About a third of the way through the game, you’ll unlock a node for another job on your current license board. The best thing to do when choosing a second job for each character in The Zodiac Age is to pick something completely opposite of what they have now, so there isn’t overlap between the abilities they can learn and you can maximize their stats. For example, if you have Basch as a Knight, it’d be a good idea to choose a Black Mage as his other job.
While you can’t change jobs in the game, at least you can have a bit of variation with the ability to have two jobs at once. For more tips, tricks, and guides on Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, make sure to check back in with Twinfinite.
