How to Change the Weather on Giza Plains in Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age

Recommended Videos

Giza Plains is one of the very first locations you visit in Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, and you’ll return to it more than once. There’s a trick with this area, however, as it actually comes in two different forms, one during the dry season and one during the rainy season. Whichever season Giza Plains is in dictates the enemies and characters that will appear, and the rainy season even gives you access to some different areas.

You’ll want to know how the weather in Giza Plains changes, especially for the Paradise Risen Hunt that has you hunting down a Gil Snapper that only appears during the rainy season. The weather on Giza Plains basically works on a time system. When the dry season starts it’ll stay that way for two hours of playtime in Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age. That means two hours of time in the game, meaning you need to have the game active and open, not on a pause menu. You can just leave the game running and don’t have to actively play it, just make sure you don’t have it paused if you’re trying to advance time. Once the plains hit the rainy season, there’s one hour of active playtime that the season will last.

The good news is, if you’re in the Giza Plains when the time for a season change hits, you’ll stay in the current season until you completely leave the plains. There’s also a trick for finding out how soon Giza Plains might change in The Zodiac Age, if you can’t keep track of the time. If you go to the Southern Gate of Rabanastre you’ll find a character named Adventure Seeq. If you return to the character and talk to him after Giza Plains hits the rainy season he’ll change his name to Weather Eye, and will then give you estimates as to how soon the weather will change.
