Certain conversation options and choices you make will actually completely change the outcome of quests and the story.
If you want to have a tighter control of your experience, you’ll definitely want to up your Charisma. If you haven’t played enough to level it up, or have focused on other parts of your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats, you can use Beer, Grape Mentats, and X-Cell to temporarily raise it when you need to have a conversation.
