Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2: How to Equip and Use Items in Battle

Items will prove to be an invaluable part of your battle strategy in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. There are many different ones ranging from those that provide a little bit of healing all the way to items that can instantly revive a fighter, so you’ll definitely want to equip and make use of them when the time calls for it.

Before you can use any items in battle, you must first equip them. This can only be done in the hub worlds such as Conton City. Go into the menu by pausing the game and choose Customize. From there, scroll down to Change Battle Items, which will bring up a smaller menu that will allow you to assign items to the four main face buttons of your controller. Once you have everything set up just the way you like, you’re ready to go into battle in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.

Now that everything’s equipped, to use items in battle hit right on the d-pad. This will bring up a small menu on the lower right-hand corner of the screen. Press the button that correlates to the item you want to use and voila, you’re done.

Keep in mind that while this small menu is open you can’t attack or use any abilities, so find a safe spot first.
