Make Special Ammo Rounds Apply Across Both Legendary & Exotics
The seasonal artifact’s focus on a select few weapons to create a forced meta of sorts in high-end PvE content is not beloved by all. Personally though, I do like the system as I like being forced to be a bit more creative about the weapons I use season to season as I’m the type of person that would otherwise use my five or six favorite weapons and nothing else.
All of that said, a major problem is that exotics are not able to equip the special ammo mods that are in cycle each season. Some newer exotics such as Eriana’s Vow and Divinity have the special ammo innate as a trait, but anything pre-Shadowkeep is missing it.
The simplest (at least on paper) way to fix this would be to remove the perk as an actual mod that you have to equip onto your weapon, and instead just have it automatically apply to any weapon within the archetype when you activate the mod on your seasonal artifact.
This not only allows some other exotics to get more use, but it also allows legendary weapons to equip normal mods again instead of being forced to use the artifact mods.
