All Microtransactions and How Much They Cost in Destiny 2

Microtransactions are making a return in Destiny 2, though you won’t have to shell out any real money to make progress in the game if you don’t want to. Listed below are all of the microtransactions currently available in Destiny 2, and how much they’ll cost you.

  • 1,000 Silver – $9.99
  • 2,000 Silver – $19.99
  • 1 Bright Engram – 200 Silver
  • 3 Bright Engrams – 500 Silver
  • 5 Bright Engrams – 800 Silver

Bright engrams have a chance of dropping weapon and armor mods that will help enhance your stats slightly. While the mod drops can give you a bit of a gameplay benefit, at the moment they seem very slight, and you’ll still have to play through some of the game’s harder PVE and PVP content to get the best gear. They can also be decrypted to give you cosmetic items and unique emotes.

Bright engrams can be purchased with Silver if you speak to Tess Everis at the Farm, which is the new social space in Destiny 2. However, do note that you can’t purchase any Silver or Bright engrams before hitting level 20, which is the current level cap in the game. This means that you’ll more than likely have to beat the full story campaign before you’re able to make any microtransactions.
