What’s New in Danganronpa 1.2?

Recommended Videos

Today saw the release of Danganronpa 1.2 Reload, which throws the first two games from the popular visual novel x adventure series into one package. For those who haven’t yet had the opportunity to experience these wild and wonderful mystery games, this is a great time to jump in ahead of the third title’s release on the PS4 later this year. As for those returning for a second visit, you’ll probably be wanting to know what’s changed, if anything, since you played them last.

Unfortunately, if you’ve played Danganronpa Trigger Happy Havoc or Goodbye Despair before, then you’ve already seen everything that 1.2 Reload has to offer. This is a straight port of the titles onto the PS4, with no major visual enhancements or additional features tossed in. As such, if you’re familiar with the games and don’t want to revisit their stories, there’s little reason for you to pick up Danganronpa 1.2 Reload

However, if you’re a newcomer to the series then 1.2 Reload is meant just for you. Load times are nice and fast, the gameplay and storytelling is as great now as it was when the titles first released in Japan back in 2010, and for $40, you’re getting a ton of content.

It may be a little disappointing that there’s nothing new for existing fans to check out in Danganronpa 1.2 Reload, but with V3 due to release in September in North America, at least the wait for fresh content isn’t too much longer.
