Best Multiplayer and Co-Op Games of October 2018
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4
The fourth and highly anticipated entry in the Black Ops series released in October, offering tons of new multiplayer gameplay including a Battle Royale mode for the first time in a Call of Duty title.
With two-player local and four-player online co-op for all modes, Black Ops 4 marks the 10th anniversary of the Call of Duty: Zombies, and in celebration there is more Zombies day one content then ever before.
The new Blood of the Dead storyline takes place in Alcatraz prison as the game’s heroes try and survive an onslaught of zombies appearing from portals while seeking out the secrets lying within the prison’s laboratory.
Another new storyline Voyage of Despair is set on the sinking Titanic ship in 1912. While looking for a mysterious artifact you and your friends will have to survive the zombies that are likely more scary the the frigid waters below.
The final new Zombies campaign is IX, set in Ancient Rome with a unique twist where players will not be able to use any guns due to the time period setting. Bows and swords will be the headliners of your arsenal, so expect to get a little closer to the zombie hordes then you are used to. All the Zombies modes can be played online or via local co-op.
Some basic multiplayer modes returning include Domination, Hardpoint, Control, and more, with returning and new maps including Frequency, Payload, and Contraband.
The largest new inclusion, however, is the Blackout Battle Royale mode. Using classic weapons from the series in a new map with familiar locations, 100 players drop when in teams of four and 88 when running solo or in a team of two to fight until one player remains.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 released for Xbox One, PS4, and PC on Oct. 12.
