Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age (Sept. 4 on PlayStation 4 and PC)

After many years without a localized release in the west, the Dragon Quest series is back with the phenomenal Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive age. As a chosen hero of light, players must venture out into the land of Erdrea, gather allies and track down the lord of Shadow, a nefarious figure who intends to drag the land into darkness with the revival of an ancient evil. Along the way, they’ll find their way into any number of adventures from harrowing dives into monster-infested dungeons to heart-warming interactions with some of the world’s many NPCs. It’s a quintessential example of what a JRPG can be in the modern gaming landscape, and shouldn’t be missed by anyone who fancies themselves a fan of the genre or the series.
