How to Beat a Battle Elephant in Assassin’s Creed Origins

Assassin’s Creed Origins’ ancient Egyptian setting allows for players to take on all manner of weird and wonderful enemies. One such enemy is the battle elephant. You’ll only occasionally come across these in the game, but trust us when we say these are some powerful opponents. Here’s what you need to know to beat a battle elephant in Assassin’s Creed Origins.

As you may have guessed, battle elephants are pretty huge, so they’ll use this to their advantage when attacking. You can expect a battle elephant to charge, stomp, and swing their tusks when you’re battling them, so make sure you’re always looking out for telltale signs of one of these coming.

Next, you’ll want to make sure you’ve got a nice and fast weapon equipped. Personally, we were a fan of the hook swords with bleeding to really chip away at a battle elephant’s health, but dual swords also work effectively, too.

Now time for the actual battle. When a battle elephant charges at you, you’ll want to roll to one side by triple pressing either X on the Xbox One or Square on PS4. Once you’ve evaded their attack, you’ll want to get to work hacking away at their hind legs with your weapon. Be ready to roll away, though, as they’ll lift the foot you’re closest to and try and stomp you into the sand. This can one-hit you or leave you with almost no health, so we advise not getting too greedy with your attacks, rather than getting caught by this.

With both of its hind feet back firmly on the floor, head back over and continue to attack it. You’ll want to continue attacking it until it begins to turn. When it does, back up and create some space between the two of you. This’ll cause it to charge towards you. And when it does, simply rinse and repeat the above process.

You want to make the battle elephant charge as much as you can in Assassin’s Creed Origins as it buys you more time to attack as opposed to just staying nearby and swinging at their legs the whole time.

That’s about everything you need to know about taking on a battle elephant in Assassin’s Creed Origins. For more on the game, be sure to check out our ever-expanding wiki guide.
