Shaman King
Shaman King is one of those Jump series that consistently gets overlooked, despite being quite popular for a period of time, even selling over 26 million volumes of manga in Japan. The series revolves around a young boy named Yoh, a spirit medium who seeks to become the Shaman King, and commune with the Great Spirit.
In order to become the Shaman King, however, Yoh has to enter the Shaman Fight, a huge tournament where Shamans around the world fight each other.
Shaman King has all the makings of other great Shonen series; fun characters with personalities that play off of each other, crazy over-the-top fights, and plenty of twists.
Yoh is able to channel spirits during battle, meaning he’d have a perfect moveset to translate into Jump Force. The series also has a unique aesthetic by combining traditional Japanese myths and legends with more modern settings.
Shaman King hit around the same time as Naruto and Bleach, giving it the same kind of legacy appeal. With a brand new series recently starting, Shaman King The Super Star, it seems only fitting the series makes its way into Jump Force.

Black Cat
Black Cat is yet another overlooked Shonen series, focusing on an ex-assassin by the name of Train Heartnet. Train used to be a member of the Chronos Numbers, a shadowy organization bent on world peace that controls a third of the world’s economy.
Each member of the Numbers uses a specific weapon, and in Train’s case, it’s his inhuman accuracy with his special revolver. There’s a fascinating character dynamic between Train and the series’ main villain, Creed Diskenth.
The pair were originally friends, even partners, but after Train left the Numbers that all changed. Their relationship is similar to that of Spike and Vicious from Cowboy Bebop, and has a lot of layers behind it.
Black Cat has fantastic action, and some very unique character designs compared to other Shonen franchises. Train and Creed would both be diverse additions to the roster of Jump Force, and Train’s use of his gun especially would make him a fun character to play as.
Black Cat may not have had as long of a run as other Jump series, but it’s easily one of the most memorable in the publication’s long history.

D. Gray-Man
D. Gray-Man quickly gained in popularity when it hit Shonen Jump in 2004, and it’s since become one of the best-selling manga of all time, both in Japan and the West. Part of what makes this particular series so memorable is its unique setting, taking place in 19th century Europe.
In the series, a young man named Allen Walker joins an organization of exorcists that use an ancient substance called Innocence to battle the Millenium Earl and his demon army. As you might expect, this setup leads to plenty of crazy battles. Think something like Hellsing, but less disgustingly gory.
Part of what makes D. Gray-Man so strong is also its fantastic main characters, both hero and villain. Allen has fascinating development that really goes to some unexpected places, and the Millenium Earl is both likeable and terrifying all at once.
The series has such a unique and striking aesthetic, it’s practically begging to be included in Jump Force.

Blue Exorcist
Blue Exorcist is one of the more recent additions to the Jump family, focusing on Rin Okumura, who just so happens to be the son of Satan. Rin inherits the insane power of his demonic father, and this allows him to transform into a demon himself during battles.
These abilities already give Rin an interesting moveset for Jump Force, complete with a terrifying transformation for an Awakening attack. There are also plenty of other characters you could choose from to help flesh out the roster.
Rin’s brother Yukio who’s a prodigy at True Cross Academy, the hot-headed Ryuji, and even Satan himself. The blue flames that billow off of Rin and Satan’s bodies in battle would surely look striking in Jump Force’s graphical engine.

Claymore
Claymore is one of the more mature Shonen mangas out there, filled with tons of gore, violence, and mature themes. The dark fantasy series takes place on fictional islands plague by man-eating beasts named Yoma. The only defense the people have from these creatures are Claymores, inhuman warriors infused with the blood of Yoma.
This leads to Claymores being nearly emotionless killers, but the main character, Clare, still tries to hold on to her humanity. There’s already a fair number of weapon-wielding characters in Jump Force, and it’d be great to see Clare cross blades with the likes of Kenshin, Trunks, and Asta.
Other than Clare, Teresa of the Faint Smile is probably the other best character to add, and their Yoma transformations would work perfectly as Awakenings.

Gin Tama
You have to mention Gin Tama when talking about Shonen series, as the brilliant anime and manga satirizes nearly every popular Shonen in existence. From Studio Ghibli, to Fullmetal Alchemist, and even Final Fantasy, tons of pop culture is referenced throughout the comedy series.
Gin Tama takes place in an alternate Edo period Japan, where an alien race called the Amanto have conquered Earth. Gintoki works as a freelancer along with his friends in order to make monthly rent.
It’s a bit puzzling that Gin Tama isn’t already featured in Jump Force honestly, as the series is easily one of the most popular Shonen series currently, with over 55 million copies printed in Japan. He’d be one of the more comical characters in the game, but surely Gin Tki is set to be one of the nine DLC characters.

Assassination Classroom
Assassination Classroom is best known for the iconic character of Koro-sensei, the yellow tentacled alien at the forefront of everything. Koro arrives on Earth, destroying 70 percent of the moon and then claiming he’ll destroy the planet in one year, but he offers mankind one chance to save themselves, by assassinating him.
This already absurd setup only gets better when Koro takes it upon himself to train a class of students in all the usual subjects… and assassination. Koro’s a ridiculously powerful opponent, one that could easily go toe-to-toe with the likes of Goku, and his eerie smile makes him terrifying to face down.
Koro has also been featured in crossover games like J-Stars Victory Vs., so it only makes sense that Assassination Classroom should come to Jump Force at some point.

Dr. Stone
Dr. Stone is one of the Shonen series currently on the rise in popularity, and it has all the makings of a great series. The series tells the story of two high school students, Taiju and Senku, who end up being the only survivors after a bright light has turned all of humanity to stone.
The pair band together and use Senku’s incredible scientific knowledge to try and rebuild humanity, but one person they free, Tsukasa, has a different mindset. He believes that only pure-hearted children should be freed, and so he begins destroying all of the petrified adults, creating a war between his faction and that of Taiju and Senku.
Great fights, quirky characters, and a unique premise are just a few of the reasons Dr. Stone has started getting attention. Similarly to Goku, the manga’s protagonist Senku has a head of hair that’s instantly recognizable, and his over-the-top personality makes him a strong lead.
His reliance on his intelligence and inventions would make him an interesting fighter in Jump Force, more of a tricky character than just a brute force tank.

Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo
You know how anime gets that association of being exceptionally weird, well, one look at Bobobo will show you why. The comedy-centric series takes place in the far future of Earth, where the alien Maruhage Empire led by Tsuru Tsurulina IV has conquered the planet.
His Hair Hunt Troop roams the land, attacking innocent bystanders and taking their hair. The only one standing against them is the rebel Bobobo-Bo Bo-Bobo who uses his Fist of the Nose Hair style to fight back.
Visual gags, fourth wall breaking, puns, and pop culture references ensue in the ridiculous story that follows. Bobobo would easily be the strangest character to join the cast of Jump Force, but boy would he be fun to play as, and a great mid-range fighter with his hair attacks.
On the other hand, thinking about Bobobo rendered in that realistic art style elicits a few shudders.

Shokugeki No Soma
Jump Force is the most ambitious anime crossover of all time, but there’s still room for things to get even crazier. What’s the best way to do that? Bring in Shokugeki No Soma, also known as Food Wars. The series stars Soma Yukihira, a young man who wants to follow in his father’s footsteps of becoming a master chef.
You’ve probably heard of Food Wars because of its absolutely ridiculous animations for cooking. It’s basically a cooking anime with the style of a battle anime. Because of this, it’s not unreasonable to think that Bandai Namco could translate Shokugeki No Soma into Jump Force.
Just imagine Soma using frying pans, butcher knives, and a variety of ingredients to battle Goku or Naruto. It’s ridiculous to think about, but just the perfect kind of ridiculous that would fit in a game like Jump Force. If they can find a way to make Yu-Gi-Oh work in a fighting game, they can certainly do the same for Shokugeki No Soma.
