For many, playing through the game normally will yield no worthwhile results. There are many different endings, with most of them having nothing to do with the overall lore that so many fans have been so intently uncovering and following. The game tells you about glitches and some security system, but none of that really matters. In order to find out what’s really going on you need to be patient, specifically during the few moments when you speak directly to Fredbear.

At the end of each of your conversations with Fredbear in FNaF World, you will see a “Done” button. If you stay on that screen for 30 seconds or so, the real story reveals itself. A pixelated Fredbear appears and informs you that the main story is just a cover-up. This “sanctuary” is just as dangerous as anywhere else in the world. There is no safe place, and it is up to you to help leave a “breadcrumb trail.”

You were created to serve this purpose. The second time you speak to the alternate Fredbear he says:

This is a safe place- a sanctuary. The truth is that there is no safe place. You don’t understand that; you were made for one thing. There is a task for you to complete. Before you follow this passage, go back. Find the clock.

It’s not clear who (or what) you are, but you’re here to help this unnamed person by finding things to lead them back.
