Dead Cells

Dead Cells has picked up plenty of steam over the past few months, and rightfully so. This 2D rogue-lite Metroidvania has you exploring a vast, ever-changing castle filled with all sorts of dangerous enemies crawling about.

As the name implies, you’ll be controlling a mass of cells that control the body of a dead prisoner. You’ll have to weave your way through the castle and fight these powerful creatures with an assortment of different weapons. Dead Cells is a very action-heavy game, so timing and reading the enemy plays a big part in combat. Luckily, there are plenty of other perks and power-ups you can get in the game, with some you can find or buy with currency called cells. Any money you collect can be spent at the end of each stage, although dying means dropping every single cell you’ve managed to collect. We personally loved Dead Cells for its grueling combat, and you can check out our thoughts on the game here.
