Despite only being released in the US yesterday, the site Sensor Tower has revealed via Gamesbeat that Pokemon GO is already top the iPhone app charts worldwide.
According to the report by Sensor Tower, Pokemon GO topped the US download charts in less than 5 hours. Gamesbeat notes that it took Pokemon GO less than a third of the time that Clash Royale took to get to the top of the US charts. This success is also being mirrored in New Zealand and Australia, where the game is currently on the top of their iPhone app charts too.
Pokemon GO also briefly became the top grossing iPhone app in the States as of 10:30 this morning although it was later beaten back into second place by Mobile Strike at 40 minutes later. This means the Pokemon game is currently making more money in the US than other popular apps like Game of War and Clash of Clans.
In other Pokemon GO news, fans are already getting a little carried away, one throwing their iPhone at a Pokemon and several fans recently gathering in Sydney to go Pokemon sightseeing.
