People Are Disliking the Trailer for Alien: Blackout on YouTube Like It’s Going out of Fashion

Yesterday, D3 Go showed off a trailer for their upcoming title based on the Alien franchise, Alien: Blackout. The game apparently takes place after the events of Alien: Isolation and sometime between the two films: Alien and Aliens.

Sounds very exciting for any fans of the terrifying space horror series, but Aliens: Blackout is only coming out for mobile devices and from looking at the trailer available on the developer’s YouTube channel, fans are not happy about this at all.

As of the time of writing this article, the video currently has 490 likes (one which is from me just because I felt bad) and a whopping 17,000 dislikes (ouch).

This type of negativity always seems to stem from people getting sequels or a new game in a beloved franchise, but for that game to not come to consoles, but to mobile devices instead. A similar situation happened recently when Blizzard announced Diablo Immortal for smartphones at BlizzCon back in November.

Either way, this Alien game is coming out whether fans want it to or not, but we can only hope that a brand new Aliens game is in the works for consoles.

Here’s what you can expect from the upcoming space survival horror mobile experience:

“The terror of Alien is brought to life in Alien: Blackout. Try to stay alive while trapped aboard a crippled Weyland-Yutani space station carrying a deadly Xenomorph as it tirelessly hunts you and the crew. Outsmart the perfect hunter by making perilous choices. Players must rely on the damaged controls of the space station or risk sacrificing crew members to avoid deadly contact, permanently altering the outcome of the game.

Survive seven fear-inducing levels by remotely guiding Amanda Ripley’s crew through increasingly challenging tasks using only the station’s emergency systems. The uncertainty and unpredictability of both the alien and her crew can impose total defeat for Amanda and the entire station.

Alien: Blackout is a unique fear-inducing horror mobile game experience that will test the inner nerves of both Alien and horror fans alike, where life can end in an instant.”

According to its info page on the App Store, the game is set to launch on Jan 24. You can pre-order Alien: Blackout right now if you so dare to, on the App Store and Google Play Store for the price of $4.99.
