Playground games took to Twitter today to discuss their plans for what is being called “Update 9” which will add new content to Forza Horizon 4.
Players who enjoyed the various stories within the game will be able to partake in a new journey with “Car Files”. Which seems to be alluding to the fact that you will be catching a lot of air and possibly some insurance paperwork afterwards.
This update to the game will also bring signature Mini cars to the ever growing roster of cars available. You can use these new Mini vehicles to enter in Season Events, #Forzathons, and The Trial.
The biggest addition seems to be a new game mode named “Custom Adventure.” In this mode you can choose to create your own online adventure by selecting various types of series, car classes and whether you want car collisions on or off.
Thankfully one of the biggest bugs currently present in Forza Horizon 4 will also be removed in this latest update. Currently, players are able to use an exploit called “wall riding” which allows them to go very fast into a corner and have the wall whip you forward, which can keep your momentum going.
This gave players an unfair advantage. To put a stop to this tactic, the Forza team have added penalties for attempting this tactic, such as slowing your vehicle down or being ghosted for a set time. If you are pushed into a wall by another player however, the game will not penalize you.
Additionally another new super car is being added. The striking Apollo IE will be a reward for completing the Spring Trial (seen above).
Parts of the update have been rolled out today and more, specifically the Showcase Remix and the New Horizon Story will be released later in the week.
