Developed by Monolith Soft, Xenoblade Chronicles was originally released for the Wii a few years back, but now it’s getting a much-needed upgrade and enhancement with the launch of the Definitive Edition on Switch. Each character in the game comes with a set of unique Arts and abilities, and you’ll need to use them properly to be successful in battles. Here’s how to level up Arts in Xenoblade Chronicles.
Leveling Up Arts in Xenoblade Chronicles
Whenever you gain access to a new playable character in Xenoblade Chronicles, they’ll have a set of Arts that can be used in combat. Most of them start out pretty basic, but they can get pretty powerful as you level up further.
For instance, Shulk’s Back Slash becomes devastating once you level it up a couple of times, making him a big damage dealer whenever you hit an enemy from behind. To level it up, though, you’ll need AP.
Getting AP
AP is obtained through a couple of ways in the game, and you can get it quickly simply by participating in battles in the game. Every combat encounter will reward you with a bit of AP, and you can rack them up very quickly.
In addition to that, using linked attacks and fighting stronger enemies in the game will give you extra AP as well.
When outside of battle, discovering new locations and landmarks will also give you experience points and AP, so it’s definitely worth your time to explore.
To level up your Arts, press the X button to bring up the menu and choose the Arts option. Press the L and R buttons to select the character you want, then hit ZR to go to the Level Up tab. From here, select the Art you want to level up and confirm your selection by pressing A.
Leveling up your Arts will usually increase effectiveness and reduce cooldown times, allowing you to use them more frequently.
That’s all you need to know about how to level up Arts in Xenoblade Chronicles. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
