Concealed – XCOM 2
XCOM 2’s combat is centered around turn-based strategy. You’re going to start off certain missions “concealed.” What this means is that the enemy hasn’t spotted you yet. You’re able to roam freely around the battlefield, checking out the surroundings and planning a way to flank some unsuspecting enemies. However, don’t get too comfortable with your movements. As soon as you step on a point that will trigger an alien’s attention (marked by a red eye), you’re spotted. What comes next is an all-out assault from the enemy, cutting short your pre-battle tactics.
The best way to avoid this is by sticking to your blue movement zones at first. Don’t rush and use up two movement points because you might stumble upon the enemy line of sight faster that way. Moving around slowly to start makes it much easier for you to spot the areas that will get their attention, while also letting you plan out how to overtake them. Once you’re all set and positioned as best as you can be, then it’s time to strike and cut the concealment out. Sometimes, where you want to go will even let you know that you’ll alert the aliens with the red eye symbol. Avoid these actions, like crashing through a window, and you’ll be okay moving around.
