Restoration Shamans are an incredibly flexible class that can put up both a reasonable amount of healing as well as damage during downtime. They feature a number of utility abilities of all kinds that will make them invaluable in many types of encounters. On top of this, they feature some of the strongest saving-throw heals the game has to offer and can be the difference between a wipe and finishing a fight.
Restoration Shamans are not great when it comes to sustained single target healing, or healing widespread groups. They also are unable to take much punishment, lowering their survivability overall.
