While Windbound might have a lot of relaxing elements, like sailing, there are still plenty of tense situations that you’ll need to prepare for accordingly. To survive, you’ll need to use weapons like the Grass Sling, which help you hunt for meat and other important items. Here is everything you need to know about how to make Grass Sling in Windbound.
Since the only item you start the game off with is a small knife, you’ll want to make a Grass Sling as soon as possible. This ranged item not only gives you space between you and your oppennet, it also deals significatly more damage per strike.
How to Make Grass Sling in Windbound
Similar to most starting items, you’ll need to collect Thick Grass and combine it with Grass Rope to make the Grass Sling. You’ll have no problem finding this wheat looking crafting item, as they are all over every item.
When you’ve collected the necessary materials, open up the crafting menu and head over to the weapons tab. Once inside hover over the recipe and hold down the prompt to make it.
This sling does more damage than the knife that you start with. It also allows you to put some distance between you and your foe.
Equip the sling on the dpad, then press the following to use it:
Console | Attack Button |
Nintendo Switch | ZR |
PS4 | R2 |
Xbox One | R2 |
Pressing this button will start swinging the weapon. Use the dots to line up the distance and release when both sides of the dots meet in the middle.
Two important things to note are that the item takes rocks and degrades. That means you’ll need to pick up rocks as you go to replenish ammo and will need to make new ones when they break.
