Valkyria Chronicles 4 is the latest entry in the tactical franchise, offering a completely new story with its own unique cast. As with most other games in the series, players will be fighting in yet another war and controlling units around the battlefield. While the game offers a solid single-player mode, others might be wondering if Valkyria Chronicles 4 comes with a co-op multiplayer mode.

Unfortunately, Valkyria Chronicles 4 does not have a co-op multiplayer mode that lets you play with others. The main campaign is strictly single-player only, and no one else can join you on your various missions. Interestingly enough, the second game in the series actually included a co-op multiplayer mode that allowed others to join in on the fun in any quest. Up to three friends can play through the main campaign and take control of certain units, adding another layer of strategy to the game. One cool thing about this co-op multiplayer mode was that if two players are near each other on the battlefield, they could execute a powerful team attack on the enemy. Sega never revealed why they didn’t add this feature to Valkyria Chronicles 4, nor have they mentioned anything about patching it into the game.

Despite the lack of co-op multiplayer, Valkyria Chronicles 4 is still packed with enough content to keep you glued for hours on end. There are plenty of different characters to recruit and missions to undertake, as well as having to learn all of the combat systems the game has to offer. Combat is quite nuanced and requires strategic decision making and positioning to win.
