State of Decay 2 is the follow-up to Undead Labs’ zombie survival RPG. This time around, the world is larger, more dangerous, and has even more to keep you busy, as you attempt to survive post-zombie apocalypse. Players can also now buddy-up with three friends and take on everything the game has to offer. It’s just as brutal as its predecessor, with ammo incredibly hard to come by and each melee weapon having a set durability. You’ll be able to get by early on with a strong melee weapon in hand, but for large hordes of zombies and stronger enemies, you’ll need to bring out the big guns.

In State of Decay 2, as in any good zombie game, you’re going to want to aim for the head. Shooting from the hip will allow you to hit multiple zombies quickly, but any player worth their salt is going to want to aim down the sights for more precise and efficient zombie killing. To aim down the sights in State of Decay 2, simply press the right stick while aiming with LT. This will give you much more accuracy and control over your aiming, useful for dealing large amounts of damage to boss enemies, and for taking out zombies in a single shot. With ammo being as scarce as it is in State of Decay 2, you’re going to want to make every shot count, so try to resist the urge to spray and pray. Different weapons have different firing modes in the game, so make sure you experiment with each one to find the best gun for the mission you’re on.
