Getting More Outfits and Clothing in Splatoon 2

Recommended Videos

Getting new threads and updating your fashion is the name of the game in Splatoon 2. However, you’ll have to put in a bit of time and effort if you really want your inkling to stand out from the crowd.

When you’re first starting out in the game, you’ll only be able to edit the basic look and appearance of your character. You’ll also notice that none of the clothing stores are willing to sell you anything. You’ll need to reach level 4 if you want access to some new gear and customization options. To do this, simply head into the online battle arena to participate in some Turf War Regular Battles. This is a 4v4 mode where your team wins by covering the most area in your paint color. The battles are fun and they’re relatively quick as well. Every battle will reward you with some experience points, but take note that actually winning them will give you even more experience.

Once you’ve reached level 4, you’ll be able to start buying some new clothing from the stores. There’s a ton of options to choose from, and some can only be accessed by getting to higher levels. Remember to check the perks on each piece of clothing as well, and choose the ones that best complement your play style.

The clothing stores also get their inventories updated on a daily basis, so check in with them once a day to see what’s new. If you have the Nintendo Switch Online app, exclusive pieces of clothing can be obtained through the SplatNet Gear store, and then bought from Murch, who’s right next to the lobby.

More About Splatoon 2

Splatoon 2 is the follow-up to Splatoon, the inky shooter game released on the Wii U two years ago. Take control of a kid, splat your enemies with ink, and transform into a squid whenever you feel like it.
