There’s a good variety of online multiplayer game modes available in Splatoon 2, but you won’t be able to access all of them right from the start of the game. Listed below are all of the game modes you can unlock in Splatoon 2, along with instructions on how to get them.

Turf Wars: The classic 4v4 game mode is available as a Regular Battle right from the get-go.

Splat Zones: Your teams will have to battle for control over specific zones in this mode. Can only be unlocked in Ranked Battles once you reach level 10.

Tower Control: This frantic game mode sees you and other players duke it out on top of a moving tower. Can only be unlocked in Ranked Battles once you reach level 10.

Rainmaker: You and your team will have to work together to carry a Rainmaker into the enemy base. Can only be unlocked in Ranked Battles once you reach level 10.

Salmon Run: A new horde mode where you and your team fend off waves of enemies and bosses while collecting Golden Eggs. Only available as a timed event, but can be played anytime in local play.

More About Splatoon 2

Splatoon 2 is the follow-up to Splatoon, the inky shooter game released on the Wii U two years ago. Take control of a kid, splat your enemies with ink, and transform into a squid whenever you feel like it.
