Playing Solo in Sea of Thieves
While Sea of Thieves is definitely best experienced with other people, if you feel like playing solo and braving the open world alone, you can do that as well. And if you ever get tired of the solo experience, it’s very easy to jump back into the game with friends.
If you want to play the game alone, go to the main menu and load up your pirate. You’ll then have the option of sailing in either a galleon or a sloop. Choose the sloop, and you’ll have the option of sailing with either one other person or going alone. Choose to sail alone, and the game will load you in quickly with no need for any matchmaking.
Once you’re in the game, you’re basically free to do whatever you want. You can take on voyages and other quests from the various NPCs in the game. However, do note that you’ll have to manage the entire ship yourself. No one else will be able to help you with the sails or giving you directions from the map, so it might be a bit of a challenging experience at first.
