When you start off on Sable’s Gliding adventure, you’ll likely notice that the framerate is pretty slow and stuttery. That’s because, for whatever reason, the game’s default framerate setting is set to 30FPS. By today’s standards, this is pretty low and so the game can feel noticeable jerky. In this guide, we’ll run you through how to increase the framerate in Sable, so you can enjoy the gameplay in a buttery smooth 60FPS or an unlimited framerate if your PC is capable of doing so.
Changing Framerate Settings in Sable
The good news is that changing this setting is incredibly easy. All you need to do is press the View button on the Xbox controller or Esc on your keyboard and then navigate to the ‘Settings’ option.
Now go to ‘Display’ and you should in this menu see the ‘Framerate’ option. With this selected, click through the options to either increase the framerate to 60FPS or Unlimited.
It’s worth noting that you can either do this from the main menu of the game, or in-game without having to restart the game entirely.
Why Is Sable Still Stuttering?
Unfortunately, at the time of writing and as mentioned in our review, Sable does seem to have some significant performance issues. In particular, every few seconds you may notice that the game stutters, and it’ll be even worse in more built-up areas of the map, such as the various Stations.
From our time with the game, there’s no way to fix this at the time of writing. Developer Shedworks is currently working on a fix for this, which should arrive shortly after launch. No specific date for the patch has been announced just yet.
That’s everything you need to know on how to increase framerate in Sable. For more tips, tricks and guides, be sure to search for Twinfinite, or see more of our coverage on the game below.
