How to Attack – Resident Evil 7

Recommended Videos

There are going to be times during Resident Evil 7 that you’ll wish you could just turn around and avoid the source of the horrible noise down that dark corridor. Unfortunately, that’s not an option, and you’ll have to head down there if you want to make it to the end of the game. In these instances, you’ll find it incredibly handy if you know how to attack.

Attacking with any weapon works primarily in the same way. Of course, what weapon you use to deal damage to your enemy, depends on which you have equipped. You can select your weapon by opening up the inventory with Triangle or Y, and simply selecting the one you want to use.

For melee weapons like the axe or knife, you’ll now just need to press R2 in order to make Ethan swing or lunge forward with the weapon. Pressing R2 when you have a firearm equipped will result in Ethan firing your weapon, but the aiming reticle is a bit big. To really zoom in with your aiming, press the L2 or LT button first, changing your crosshairs to a smaller dot. This allows for far more precision, allowing you to nail those headshots.

That’s all you need to know to fend off the horrors that lay in wait at the Baker estate. For more tips, tricks, and information on Resident Evil 7, be sure to check out our ever-expanding wiki guide.
