How Hair Growth Works in Red Dead Online

The world of Red Dead Online is teeming with dangers. There are the many wild animals ripe for hunting, that’ll also tear you apart given the chance. There are story missions to embark on dealing with dangerous NPCs, and of course, other players that can go around shooting you in the face to their heart’s content. The more important thing to worry about, though, is how you look, and how great your hair will look once it’s grown a bit. Here’s how hair growth works in Red Dead Online.

Unfortunately, we’ve got a little bit of bad news for this one. Red Dead Online doesn’t utilize the same hair growth mechanic that we saw with Arthur in Red Dead Redemption 2. Your hair and facial hair won’t grow over time if left, nor can you buy any hair growth tonics to speed the process up.

All hope is not lost, however, if you’re looking to change up your hairstyle or grow your hair out in Red Dead Online.

If you head to a barber in Red Dead Online, you’ll be able to change hairstyles as long as you’ve got the hard-earned cash. Keep in mind that some of these can be quite expensive for anyone just starting out, so make sure that once you pick one, you’ll be happy with it for quite some time. Once the money starts flowing in, however, feel free to ball out with as many hairstyles as you want in Red Dead Online.

Though it might not be the same as the hair growth mechanic in Red Dead Redemption 2, at least this way players aren’t left waiting for weeks at a time before their character’s hair reaches a length where they can change it into a style that suits them.

As you may have guessed, it’s a similar story for facial hair in Red Dead Online. There’s no hair growth mechanic here, but if you ever fancy growing a full beard, shaving it off entirely, or going for something in between, simply head to one of the barbers in Red Dead Online and you’ll be able to customize your facial hair’s length and style.

For those of you struggling to track down a barber, we visited one in the saloon in Valentine. As you walk through the front door, head towards the right of the stairs right in front of you and he’s just down on the ground floor.
