You’re Collecting Trainers, not Pokemon
A big difference between Pokemon Masters and other Pokemon titles is that you are collecting trainers instead of Pokemon, which you partner up with to form effective teams.
No longer do you have to ‘catch em all’-now it’s all about finding the best teammates to guarantee your success on the battlefield.
Trainers are given a star rating depending on their rarity-and a good rating means they’re more than likely to be a helpful asset.
Pokemon Typing is a bit Different
The typing of some Pokemon is more simplified in a few cases. For example, Houndoom has been simplified to a singular typing, and is now just dark type.
So, don’t go thinking you can chuck a bubble-beam towards the dastardly dog, it won’t be as effective this time! Plan your moves carefully according to the enemy’s typing, whatever it ends up being.
This is presumably to make the battles less complicated and so you can decipher and respond to weaknesses faster.
