How to Enter Stealth Mode in Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire
In Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire, there are A LOT of different ways you can approach, well, nearly everything in the game. You can use street smarts or diplomacy to get you out of sticky situations, bribe people, or use the pointy end of your sword to solve your problems. However, there are times that you’ll want to avoid everyone and everything all together. Whether it’s sneaking around somewhere you shouldn’t be, or trying to avoid combat in a dangerous area. In these situations, you’ll want to use stealth mode. Stealth mode puts your characters into a crouch and will inform of your enemies’ line of sigh (dependent on your available perception). This makes you move much slower, however, you’ll be much harder to detect, and will be able to potentially avoid combat all together if you so choose.
To enter stealth mode in Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire, all you need to do is hit the alt button while playing. Everyone in your party will crouch, and you’ll be ready to sneak around. Keep in mind, if your party is split up, or you just want certain party members in stealth mode, but not others, you can always select individual members by clicking on their portrait on the bottom right. That way, you can micromanage specific people. This comes in handy when you just want one person to sneak by and do something, such as stealing something from a guarded room, but not drag the whole party along with you.
That does it for how to enter stealth mode in Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire. Crouching around and being sneaky isn’t for everyone, but for those that enjoy the stealthy play style, it’s a must if you want to get the jump on enemies or just avoid them altogether.
