Persona 5 Strikers: Bond System Explained

Persona 5 Strikers brings a lot of new elements to the table. In addition to taking the series in a more action-oriented direction, it also replaces some tried and true mechanics for new ones that, while a good fit for the game, may throw off tried and true fans. One such new mechanic is the Bond system, and if it’s got you scratching your head, worry not. We’re here to walk you through everything there is to know about the Bond System in Persona 5 Strikers with a detailed guide.

What the Bond System Is and How to Use it in Persona 5 Strikers

To put it plainly, Persona 5 Strikers’ Bond system is a replacement for the Social Link and Confidant systems used in prior Persona titles.

Instead of tracking your level of comradery with each character individually, this new system tracks how close you are to your party members collectively. This is shown with a gauge in the top right corner of the screen, which increases to higher levels the closer you become to your party members.

The bond gauge can be increased by doing things like reaching important parts of the main story, bringing party members an item they need for a side quest, and winning battles in the Metaverse. The amount of Bond experience each action gives you varies, but experience earned for progressing the story tends to net you the biggest gains.

Once you earn enough experience, you’ll level up and gain points which can be used to unlock Bond Abilities. These are basically the abilities you’d normally earn from advancing Confidant stories, except you’ll have near-full control over which ones you unlock first.

There are 99 Bond Levels to earn in total, though reaching a specific level won’t unlock new interactions or story bits between you and your party members.

That’s all there is to it really. It’s definitely not as meaty as the Social Link of Confidant systems from other games, but it fits well with Persona 5 Strikers more streamlined gameplay approach. After a few hours with the game, you should have no trouble navigating it and using it to your full advantage.

hopefully this cleared up what the Bond system is and how to use it in Persona 5 Strikers. For more on the game, check out our guide wiki.
