How to Dismiss Temporary Party Members in Octopath Traveler
Each character has their own special ability in Octopath Traveler. While some have the skills to steal or battle others, certain characters can actually recruit NPCs as temporary party members. These people each have their own unique abilities and can be called into battle. That said, some players might be wondering how they can dismiss temporary party members from the group.
In Octopath Traveler, only Primrose and Ophilia have the ability to Allure or Guide NPCs to joining them on their quest. These temporary party members can only be called into battle a certain number of times before they leave your party. If you want to dismiss them much earlier, all you need to do is press the Y button and the option should prompt up from the menu. Meanwhile, if you find someone else you want to recruit while you have a temporary party member, just try to Guide or Allure them and your ally should leave automatically.
If you dismiss a temporary party member by mistake, or even if they leave your party, you can actually recruit them again in Octopath Traveler. However, do take note that you’ll need to travel all the way back to where you found them, so be prepared to walk the extra mile if you’ve grown fond of a particular temporary party member, or just fast travel there. That being said, there could be a chance that you might run into another NPC with the same ability/level as another person in Octopath Traveler.
Make the most out of Primrose and Ophilia’s abilities by choosing only the best temporary party members in Project Octopath. Depending on the situation, you might be shuffling through different NPCs along your journey. If you’re looking for more tips and tricks on Octopath Traveler, make sure to check out our wiki.
