Getting the Blueprint Analyzer in No Man’s Sky NEXT
No Man’s Sky NEXT introduces improved base-building mechanics, where players can now build multiple bases anywhere they want. The update has also added the Blueprint Analyzer technology, which lets you research blueprints for new items that you can craft for your base. Here’s what you need to know about actually getting it in the game.
If you started a new game, all you have to do is follow the tutorial until you reach the base-building segment. After building a Base Computer, the game will then provide you with a blueprint for the Blueprint Analyzer itself, and you can craft it as a piece of portable technology. It can be placed on any planetary surface, and you can pick it up and put it in your inventory when you want to leave. The Analyzer is great for unlocking new base-building items, though you’ll need to spend resources called Salvaged Technology in order to learn new blueprints. Salvaged Technology can be found underground with your Analysis Visor, and you’ll need to dig them up with your Terrain Manipulator. The more blueprints you buy from the Analyzer itself, the more purchasable options will appear over time.
However, if you’re continuing your game from an old No Man’s Sky save file, you won’t be able to craft the Blueprint Analyzer. At the time of this writing and the release of patch 1.51, it looks like there’s still no way for legacy players to craft the Blueprint Analyzer or obtain it from the Base Computer, making it difficult to access any of the new base-building items. We’ll update this article when a solution has been found, or when Hello Games has addressed the Blueprint Analyzer issue in a patch. But for now, the only way to get it is by starting a new game and playing through the tutorial quests.
