Nier Replicant Ballad of the Twins Quest Guide

Nier Replicant: Ballad of the Twins Quest Guide

If you’re looking to do everything needed to get every ending in Nier Replicant, then you’ll have to complete a fair few side quests. The only problem is, not all of them are clear on how they’re completed. Case in point: The Ballad of the Twins quest requires you to gather specific resources without telling you where to find them. As such, you wouldn’t be alone in having no idea how to complete the Ballad of the Twins Quest in Nier Replicant.

That’s why we’re here today with a detailed guide on said quest. Below you’ll find a walkthrough with instructions on how to start it, where to go for each step, and where to find the resources it requires.

Nier Replicant Ballad of the Twins Quest Guide

To start, the Ballad of the Twins quest in Nier Replicant is obtained by speaking to a patron in the tavern in Nier’s village. It’s located along the market street, south of the materials shop, and directly across from the grocery store.

Head to the tavern, then go inside to find a patron with a side quest to offer. He’ll tell you he wants to get Devola and Popola together to sing like they used to, and ask if you can convince them to get together for the performance.

You’ll then need to speak to each of the twins. Devola can be found in the tavern, and will agree without issue. Popola, meanwhile, can be found in her room in the library. To put on the performance, she’ll need a special drink prepared in Seafront.

Head to Seafront, then make your way to the tavern there. It can be found at the end of the row of buildings on the left-hand side of the market street. It will have a sign out front of a pitcher pouring a drink into a glass.

Head inside and speak to the man behind the counter. He’ll tell you he can make the drink if you can bring him 5 Mouse Tails and 5 Lizard Tails.

How to Get Mouse and Lizard Tails

These are the difficult-to-find resources we were talking about earlier. Fortunately, nabbing Mouse and Lizard Tails in Nier Replicant isn’t that hard when you know where to look.

Mouse Tails are obtained by catching the mice that scurry around the Junk Heap; specifically, in the entrance area that leads to the dungeon proper. They can be difficult to see at times, but an interaction indicator will appear above them when you’re close enough to pick them up.

Lizard Tails, meanwhile, are obtained by picking up the lizards that skitter around the Eastern Road that leads to the Lost Shrine. Just like the mice, they’ll be difficult to see, but will be marked by an interaction indicator when you get close enough to them.

If you don’t catch five of them in one go, simply exit and re-enter the area where they spawn. Rinse and repeat until you have five, then bring them all to the tavern worker in Seafront to have the drink made.

Head back to Popola in the village library and give her the drink. After that, head to the tavern, and you’ll be able to enjoy the fruits of your labor before finishing the quest.
