New World is the first major video game project from Amazon Games, and it’s a pretty ambitious one. This is a pirate-themed MMORPG that has players shipwrecked on an island, and are tasked with exploring an exciting new land while having the ability to join various factions and participate in wars. Each town has its own economy, which should help keep things fresh as well. Of course, to check out all those cool features you’ll need to actually create a character first. Here’s how to fix the black screen issue in New World.
Just like most other MMOs and multiplayer games, New World is having quite a few launch issues, and one of them is a black screen issue that pops up after players have created their character. Once you’ve created a character and confirmed their name, a cutscene will play, followed by a black screen that lasts for a while.
Fixing the Black Screen Issue in New World
In our experience, the black screen lasted for quite a few minutes before we finally got a pop-up letting us know what our position was in the server queue.
From that point on, it’s just a matter of waiting your turn in the queue until you’re finally able to enter the server and play.
However, if the black screen issue persists for more than a few minutes, you may need to update your graphics drivers to make sure everything is up to date.
Try restarting the game and see if that fixes it, then check your graphics drivers to see if there are any new updates available.
This should hopefully fix the issue as the black screen is mostly likely a result of the servers not being able to keep up with the influx of players trying to get into the game at launch.
