How to Use the NBA 2K19 Takeover System & What it Does
NBA 2K19 is mixing up the playing field with some new features and interesting mechanics. The new Takeover system, for example, is a great way to maintain the momentum and reward players for exceptional plays. If you’re wondering how this new Takeover system works, here’s everything you need to know about it in NBA 2K19.
This new system in MyCareer mode is a great way to score some buffs and boons, assuming you’re playing effectively. Alongside your different stats on the screen is a meter that fills whenever you do good actions on the court. Your meter fills whenever you manage to snag rebounds, get assists, playing defense, or basically when you find some way to help your team. On the other hand, performing badly in NBA 2K19 reduces the meter. You’ll want to avoid things such as turning the ball over, taking bad shots, or letting enemies score.
Once you do manage to max out that meter, you’ll see a flaming icon at the top of your screen. If you press the right thumbstick, you’ll active “Team Takeover,” which will flash on your screen. During that mode, your team will essentially be “on fire,” allowing you to control every player in your NBA 2K19 team for a short period of time. This is a great way to pull off different combos and shots on the field, so you’ll want to save your Takeover until you really need it. Similarly, you can also collect VC points during the Team Takeover, which you can use to buy items in NBA 2K19.
That about sums up everything you need to learn about the new Takeover system in NBA 2K19. For more tips and tricks on the game, be sure to check out our wiki.
