The mysterious, alien planet that Samus finds herself on in Metroid Dread is a hostile and treacherous place to be. Danger lurks around every corner, and EMMI is constantly hunting you down, ready to make matters even worse. As gripping as the action is, there are times where you’re going to want to take a break. Here’s how to save your game in Metroid Dread.
Saving Your Game in Metroid Dread
To save your game, you’ll need to make it to one of the ‘Save Station’ rooms found throughout the many winding corridors and paths in the game. You’ll know you’re in the right place when you find a room with a platform in the center with several rings floating behind it, as shown in the screenshot below.
The rooms will also be marked on your map as a ‘Save Station,’ listed just below the percentage of items you’ve collected.
Once in a Save Station, simply stand on the platform in the center of the room and wait for the option to ‘Save Game’ to appear in a pop-up window. Press A to confirm and the game will do the rest.
A short animation will play as Samus gets surrounded and scanned by the floating rings, before being placed back down, ready to continue her adventure.
Is There Auto Save?
Unfortunately, no. There is no auto save feature in Metroid Dread. Whenever you want to stop playing, you’ll need to make your way to one of the Save Station rooms and manually record your progress this way instead.
