How to Read in Kingdom Come Deliverance

Recommended Videos

Kingdom Come Deliverance is a massive open world RPG that derives its story and lore from real-world history. As such, the main protagonist Henry himself hasn’t exactly been taught how to read or write in the game, especially considering that he’s just the son of a blacksmith. However, you can take measures to change that and provide him with a bit of an education.

You’ll be able to learn to read once you progress through the main story of Kingdom Come Deliverance and arrive at Rattay. Speak to the trader there and ask him if there’s anyone who can teach you. The trader will inform you that there’s a Scribe in Uzhitz who might be able to help you out. Do note that Uzhitz is quite a long way from where you are, so prepare for a lengthy journey, and try to get a horse before setting out to find the Scribe. You’ll also need 50 Groschen to get the Scribe to impart his knowledge. Speak to him, pay the money, read the book, and Henry will be able to start reading anything he picks up. This is particularly useful as some books require you to read them before you can learn new skills.
