Kingdom Come Deliverance is an open world RPG with a big emphasis on realism. What is unique about the mechanic is that fast travel does not teleport you to your desired location immediately. Instead, you’ll watch Henry’s map icon move along a road on his way to that location, and as he does so, time will pass normally. As a result, Henry will get hungry and tired while fast traveling just as he normally would in-game.

Additionally, he’ll sometimes encounter enemies seeking to ambush him, or discover points of interest along the way just as if you were traveling normally. The system is certainly an inventive way of combining realism and fast travel, and it makes each use a careful decision rather than a go-to mechanic.
