HOW TO FAST TRAVEL IN KINGDOM COME DELIVERANCE
Kingdom Come Deliverance is an open world RPG with a big emphasis on realism. From its 1:1 scale topographically measured map to tiny details like having to consume alcohol or go to sleep in order to save your progress, every small nuance of the game’s design is built around immersion. The expanse of its medieval setting is vast and impressively realized, too, but developers Warhorse Studios haven’t totally abandoned the fast travel mechanic in favor of realism. You can fast travel in Kingdom Come Deliverance, but it works a little differently than in other games.
To fast travel to a location in Kingdom Come Deliverance, open the map and simply press X (PS4) or A (Xbox One) on the destination you want to visit. However, this will only work if you have visited the location previously and it has to be a specific fast travel point within the urban area you want to visit, so you’ll need to have explored that area first and uncovered its fast travel location. What is unique about the mechanic is that fast travel does not teleport you to your desired location immediately. Instead, you’ll watch Henry’s map icon move along a road on his way to that location, and as he does so, time will pass normally. As a result, Henry will get hungry and tired while fast traveling just as he normally would in-game.
Additionally, he’ll sometimes encounter enemies seeking to ambush him, or discover points of interest along the way just as if you were traveling normally. The system is certainly an inventive way of combining realism and fast travel, and it makes each use a careful decision rather than a go-to mechanic.
That’s all the information you need to know about how to fast travel in Kingdom Come Deliverance. For more useful guides on the game, be sure to search for Twinfinite.
