How to Switch Characters in Jump Force

Being the team-based battle arena fighter that it is, you’ll want to learn how to switch characters in Jump Force sooner rather than later.

A mechanic that the game is surprisingly unclear on, switching characters in Jump Force is executed by pressing L2 or the left trigger on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One respectively.

Doing so will swap out your currently selected character for the next in your lineup of fighters, swapping them in on near your opponent regardless of where you’re positioned.

It’s worth noting that there will be a cooldown period after you switch characters, and you won’t be able to switch back to your previous character or the next fighter in your lineup for a short while.

This can be both a boon and a huge risk. On one hand, it sets the character you swap in up to deal a quick and easy combo out on your opponent.

They typically won’t be able to react to your attack for a short while too, and if they do they’ll have to expend a teleport dodge to escape.

On the other hand, this can also throw your character straight into an attack if you’re not careful.

The game spawns your character in the same place near your opponent anytime you switch characters, so if your opponent manages to react in time they can deal a large chunk of damage to you with a super or special attack.

As such, it’s best to only switch characters when you’re sure your opponent won’t be able to react in time and when you’re sure it won’t lead to you suffering a massive blow to your health.

Hopefully this helps you figure out how to switch characters in Jump Force. Jump Force is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. For more tips, tricks and secrets, check out our Jump Force guide wiki.
