How to Rewind Time in Forza Horizon 4

Recommended Videos

One of the neat features that the Forza series introduced way back in 2009’s Forza Motorsport 3 was the ability to rewind time in the middle of a race if something went horribly wrong. End up sending your car flying off a cliff edge because you didn’t see the hairpin turn? Rewind time. Get completely obliterated by an AI driver? Rewind time. Well, the feature is back again in Forza Horizon 4 to save you from destroying too much of the UK’s idyllic Lake District.

To give you a helping hand in getting to grips with this feature, be you a newcomer or long-term fan of the series, we’ve run through everything you need to know to rewind time in Forza Horizon 4 on both Xbox One and PC.

For Xbox One owners, if you need to rewind time in Forza Horizon 4, you simply need to press the Y button on your controller. Doing so will automatically have the game rewind about five seconds or so initially, giving you the chance to resume racing from that point by pressing A, or you can continue to rewind further by pressing Y again. Or, if you pressed Y by accident, you can press B to cancel the rewind time feature in Forza Horizon 4.

As for PC players, you’ll want to hit the R key to rewind if you’re playing Forza Horizon 4 on keyboard. Again, you’ll want to hit R to continue to rewind if you’re unhappy with how far back you go in time initially, or you can hit the Enter key to get back to the racing action.

It’s worth noting that regardless of what platform you’re playing on, you’ll need to ensure that the ability to rewind time is enabled within the game’s settings. This is the case by default, so unless you’ve disabled it, this shouldn’t be a problem.

If you did disable it, head back into the Difficulty settings from the main menu, and re-enable it. Now you can save some beautiful landmarks from being a heap of rubble… if you really wanted to.

That’s all you need to know to rewind time in Forza Horizon 4. For more tips, tricks, and guides on the game, be sure to check out our comprehensive wiki.
