Matchmaking, Network, & Server Error – For Honor
For Honor has finally released upon the world and this multiplayer drive combat game is already full of warriors ready to test their skills against each other. However, players are beginning to run into several network, matchmaking, and server errors while playing For Honor, most of which lead to a drop in connection or the game outright ending. This is caused mainly due to For Honor being a Peer to Peer architecture, as it allows the other user’s connections to influence matches more directly than a dedicated server would. Sadly, this means it will be far easier for a match to just end abruptly or have a difficult time finding pairings for players.
Given the lack of dedicated servers in For Honor, much of the problem will rest at the hands of others players in the game itself. If someone is severely lagging, it has a chance to cause latency issues for the entire server, much in the same way Destiny’s online components have issues. While it may not be nearly as severe thanks to the smaller number of players, having a strong connection is important if you want to ensure you rarely drop. However, if you constantly find this network error popping up, it may very well be you causing the actual issues in game. If this is the case reset your router, close For Honor and run a test on your internet.
Doing this may help you achieve a more stable connection, but we suggest that you refrain from downloading, updating, or running other programs while playing the game. This could cause the game to slow down which will have a rather drastic effect on the gameplay itself. Having a server or network error pop up right as you’re about to win is one of the most disheartening feelings in this title as it means you’ll achieve no War Assets for your faction.
