Find the Right Difficulty to Maximize Points
Because you’re playing against the AI in Squad Battles, you’ll need to set the difficulty before each match. The difficulty affects the team’s attacking intelligence, reaction speed, and marking and space. The overall ‘difficulty’ comes from the chemistry of the team you’re playing against, but upping the difficulty will make the opposing team more intelligent, faster to react, and better at marking and finding space.
The higher the difficulty, the more points you’ll also earn simply for completing the match. This means that it’s sometimes better to play a game on the Ultimate difficulty setting and win 1-0 than it is to play at Legendary and win 5-0.
In fact, you’ll actually earn more points from playing and winning 1-0 on Ultimate than a 5-0 thrashing on Legendary will net you.
That being said, you want to find a difficulty where you can at least win the match. Losing games will see you get far fewer points than the ‘Predicted Points’ indicated on the difficulty select screen.
If you’re new to Squad Battles, take the time to play on a variety of difficulties and settle on the one where you’re winning, but still find there’s some challenge in doing so. This will be the difficulty setting to stick at in Squad Battles in order to help you get the best rewards possible.
