In order to blast your way through the waves of demons in Doom you’ll need some serious firepower. Here’s how to upgrade your weapons in and cut down those ugly beasts.

First off, you’ll need to get yourself some weapon upgrade points. We’ve written a guide on exactly how to do just that here, so check this out if you’re struggling to find the precious upgrade currency.

Once you’ve got yourself enough points to get yourself an upgrade, enter the in-game menu by pressing the touchpad on the PS4 controller or the views button on Xbox One. Once you’ve done this, use R1/RB to navigate your way to the Arsenal menu. Here, you can scroll through the weapons you’ve acquired so far and select mods and upgrades to equip to them.

Simply press X on PS4 or A on Xbox One to open up a menu that allows you to upgrade the mods for each of your weapons. Simply select the mod upgrade you want and confirm the purchase. Congratulations, you’ve just successfully improved your chances of survival in Doom. Now go out there and show those demons how it’s done with your new firepower!
